This class is for those familiar with knit and purl stitches and are comfortable with knitting in the round.
Have you spotted a wonderfully squishy brioche knitted project in the shop and have been wanting to learn how to make one for yourself? Then this class is for you! Come join us to learn the basics of brioche knitting while working on a small and fun cowl project. This cowl is beautiful in a two-color brioche and with bulky weight yarn, it works up so fast you’ll want to make another 3 to give during the holidays. Pattern is “Beginners Brioche Cowl” by Lavanya Patricella.
All classes and lessons must be purchased online at least 24 hours before the start time.
Instructor: Kestrel McCorkle
Prerequisites: Basic knitting knowledge required. Must know long tail cast on, basic knitting stitches, increases, decreases, and be comfortable with knitting in the round.
Skills Learned:
- The basics of choosing needles for brioche
- Brioche setup rows
- Brioche knit and purl stitches
- Work in the round
- One and two-color brioche
- Increases and decreases (on a practice swatch)
- Fixing mistakes
- Finishing and blocking your project
Materials Required:
- 100 g each, of 2 colors bulky weight yarn (one solid and one speckle, or two solid colors)
- 106 yds color A, and 90 yds color B
- A copy of the pattern, Beginners Brioche Cowl by Lavanya Patricella on Ravelry
- US size 11, 16” circular needles
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors

Class Policies: All class materials must be purchased from Warm 'n Fuzzy. For class cancellations: if cancellation is made outside of 48 hours of class start time, you will be provided with a store credit to be used on any future purchase with the shop. There will be no refunds on cancellations made within 48 hours of class start time.
