Crochet 101

This class is for those brand new to crochet or have not picked up the hook in quite some time. Come learn the basics and work on a small project in two 2-hour sessions.

All classes and lessons must be purchased online.

Prerequisites:  None

Skills Learned:

• How to hold the yarn and hook
• Maintaining tension
• Making a slip knot
• Creating a starting chain
• Stitches: single, double, and half double crochet, plus slip stitch
• Increasing and decreasing stitches
• Types of yarn, weights, fibers, and notions
• How to read a pattern
• Using the free platform, Ravelry
• Weaving in ends, finishing
• Starting a project

Materials Required:

• 1 skein worsted weight superwash wool yarn, recommend a light color of Malabrigo Rios
• I/5.5mm and J/6mm hooks
• Locking stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Class Policies:  All class materials must be purchased from Warm 'n Fuzzy. For class cancellations: if cancellation is made outside of 48 hours of class start time, you will be provided with a store credit to be used on any future purchase with the shop. There will be no refunds on cancellations made within 48 hours of class start time. Warm 'n Fuzzy reserves the right to cancel any classes if less than 3 students sign up within 24 hours of the start time. If the class is canceled by Warm 'n Fuzzy, you will be refunded.
